Terror na Zona Oeste do Rio seis crianças são atacadas por cão da raça pitbull em escola municipal

 

Na manhã desta quinta-feira dia (22), seis estudantes foram atacados por um cão da raça pitbull nas dependências da Escola Municipal Liberdade, localizada em Santa Cruz, na Zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro.

Conforme informações da Secretaria Municipal de Educação, o incidente ocorreu durante o horário de entrada, no momento em que os alunos acessavam o interior da unidade escolar. As vítimas sofreram lesões leves nos membros inferiores, especialmente nos pés, e foram encaminhadas à Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA) João XXIII, onde receberam atendimento médico, foram imunizadas e, posteriormente, liberadas.

O animal foi capturado por agentes do Centro de Controle de Zoonoses (CCZ), vinculado à Secretaria Municipal de Proteção e Defesa dos Animais. De acordo com o titular da pasta, Luiz Ramos Filho, o cão será submetido a exames clínicos e à verificação de identificação eletrônica por microchip.

“Caso o animal possua microchip, será possível identificar rapidamente o responsável legal. Temos recebido diversas denúncias relativas ao abandono de animais, especialmente da raça pitbull, o que representa um risco significativo à segurança pública. Reforçamos que o abandono de animais configura crime previsto em lei, com pena de reclusão de dois a cinco anos”, destacou o secretário.

O animal também será submetido à vacinação obrigatória e ao procedimento de castração.

O Comando do 27º Batalhão da Polícia Militar (Santa Cruz) informou que não foi acionado durante a ocorrência. A corporação tomou conhecimento do fato por meio de seu setor de inteligência e deslocou agentes até a UPA para identificar as vítimas.

A Polícia Militar realiza diligências para localizar o tutor do animal. O caso está sendo apurado pela 36ª Delegacia de Polícia (Santa Cruz), que instaurou inquérito para investigar as circunstâncias do ataque e a responsabilidade do tutor.

Six Students Injured in Pit Bull Attack at Municipal School in Rio's West Zone

 

On the morning of Thursday, the 22nd, six students were attacked by a pit bull dog within the premises of Escola Municipal Liberdade, located in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the Municipal Department of Education, the incident occurred during school entry hours, as students were entering the school building. The victims sustained minor injuries to their lower limbs, particularly their feet, and were transported to the João XXIII Emergency Care Unit (UPA), where they received medical attention, were vaccinated, and subsequently discharged.

The dog was apprehended by agents from the Zoonosis Control Center (CCZ), affiliated with the Municipal Secretariat for the Protection and Defense of Animals. According to the Secretary, Luiz Ramos Filho, the animal will undergo clinical examinations and be checked for an electronic identification microchip.

“If the dog is microchipped, it will be possible to quickly identify its legal guardian. We have received numerous reports of animal abandonment, especially involving pit bulls, which poses a serious public safety concern. We emphasize that animal abandonment constitutes a crime under Brazilian law, punishable by two to five years of imprisonment,” the Secretary stated.

The dog will also receive mandatory vaccinations and be subjected to a neutering procedure.

The Command of the 27th Military Police Battalion (Santa Cruz) reported that it was not directly called to the scene. The unit became aware of the incident through its intelligence division and dispatched officers to the UPA to identify the victims.

The Military Police is conducting searches to locate the dog’s owner. The case is under investigation by the 36th Police Precinct (Santa Cruz), which has launched an inquiry to determine the circumstances of the attack and the responsibility of the dog’s guardian.
